June 14th, 2015

We woke up this am cold, 52 degrees.  broke camp about 7:30 am local time and headed west to Montana.  We were passing thru Stanley ND, and noticed  that this was what a boom town looks like, from Stanley to Williston ND the oil fields are tremendous and and the oil tank cars and truck tankers.  I quit counting working oil pumps at a 150, there were many more on each side of the road.  Most of the workers seem to live in RVs and what I would call company housing, small compact apartment units.

From Stanley to Willston is approx 82 miles and all black gold.  What I found odd is that all the crude coming out of the ground her, the price of gas was still $2.639 to $2.799, you would think gas would be cheaper, guess the greed factor plays here too.

Amazing what you can see when you travel the two lane vs interstate, just look around and its there, not to mention the beauty of the lands. These items were seen on hillside out side of Williston and just before the Montana border.
The dueling casinos.  the prominent one is ND and the far left one is in MT.  Notice the little Welcome to MT sign, kinda small.  Saw many beautiful vistas today and now know why Montana is called "Big Sky Country". We are overnighting at the land of Wally World in the city of Havre, MT.  BTW way we are now two hours ahead of you, on Mountain time.  Have a wonderful night and more tomorrow.
